A fresh look for TWK Dundee reflects a long-term commitment to the town and the agricultural

In a small town on a busy farming route, the Dundee branch remains a dependable, community focused stop, now with a fresh look that reflects its commitment to the community it serves.
Dundee may be a small town, but it plays an important role in the surrounding farming community. Situated on the main road between Newcastle and rural areas, the Dundee branch has long been a trusted stop for farmers, contractors, and travellers moving through the region.
Under the leadership of Branch Manager Willie Viljoen, who has been with the branch since March 2020, the Dundee team continues to focus on what matters most to farmers: accessibility, reliability, and good customer service.
A Long-Term Investment
After renting the premises for several years, TWK purchased the property approximately 2 years ago. This milestone made it possible to invest in meaningful, practical improvements that would benefit both customers and staff.
Being located on a busy main road means the branch is often one of the first things people see as they enter Dundee. The revamp focused on improving visibility, safety, and the overall look of the branch, making it an easier and more inviting place for farmers, clients and passersby to stop.
The upgrades were completed in phases and included:
Installation of Clearview fencing at the front of the branch
Closing off unused access points to improve security
Structural changes to front-facing store windows
A full exterior re-paint with clear supplier branding
The feedback from customers and community members has been very positive, with many saying that the refreshed look adds new life to the entrance of the town.
Meeting Local Farmer’s Needs
The Dundee branch’s product range reflects the needs of the surrounding agricultural area. Animal feed makes up the largest portion of our stock, followed by a strong selection of animal medicines.
Customers can find:
Fertiliser, seed, and agricultural chemicals in season
Dog food and pet care products
Power tools and hand tools, including the Ingco range
Workwear such as Dirt Road clothing
Basic irrigation components
Spares for farming implements and machinery
“We are always looking at what works for farmers in this area,” says Willem. “If it helps them do their job better, we look at bringing it into the branch.”
Rising to the Occasion
The revamp has also had a positive effect on staff. Team members have shared that they feel proud to work at a branch that is being cared for.
“When employees see money being spent on the business, it gives them confidence,” Willem explains. “It shows that the branch is here to stay and that the company believes in Dundee.”
This sense of pride and security has translated into a friendly and helpful atmosphere in the store, which customers have noticed.
Taking it Step-by-Step
The Dundee branch revamp is an ongoing, phased project. Future improvements will focus on the inside of the store, including upgraded lighting and layout changes.
All work will be planned carefully to limit disruption and ensure customers can continue trading as usual.
Meanwhile for the Dundee team, customer service remains the foundation of the business.
“People must come here because they want to, not because they have no other option,” said Willem. “We want farmers to leave knowing they were helped properly.”
