TWK is committed to the extension of its business interests with regard to Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) by means of mentorships and by sharing information with previously disadvantaged communities, as well as the utilisation and training of previously disadvantaged timber contractors.

To provide this much-needed service, a division was created in TWK to give the necessary assistance and guidance to emerging foresters and timber contractors.

Property that had been redistributed to communities under the land reform programme is being managed jointly and communities are being mentored to grow their timber resources successfully and to follow sustainable forestry practices.
